http://www.youtube.com/user/MyCitizenU

Fantastic site for review and learning material!!

Nine Weeks Study Guide (Exam is next Tuesday--So I can get them graded)

                                        Chapter 12 Only!!
*Congress is the only thing that is on your 9 weeks exam.
* Study these terms/concepts. If it is NOT on the Study Guide it is NOT on the exam.
* Look at your Workbook (Chapter 12) and Text (Chapter 12). READ!  READ! READ!

There will be 20-25 multiple choice + One FRQ.
FRQ will be something about the powers of the House and powers of the Senate. If you KNOW how they are alike and different you will be just fine! Personally, I would know the legislative tactics they employ in the Senate.

filibuster
17th Amendment
cloture
reapportionment
Powers and special  priviledges of the Senate--How many?  Term?  Age to become Senator?
Powers and special priviledges of the House-- Same thing as Senate.....
Incumbency effect
pork barrel politics
logrolling
riders
bicameral
congressional districting
gerrymandering
How A Bill Becomes A Law

Answer the following (2) questions and respond to another AP student.

(1) In your opinion, "if" you had the power to "change" Congress, what major changes would you make? Why?

(2)  In your overall assessment, did the Founding Fathers give way too much power to the legislative branch?

** For Chapters 9 & 11--Powerpoint Notes are already done!! See note below....

Good Evening--

After I passed out "Chapter 9 & 11" Powerpoint Notes---I realized that I HAD already done them for you!!  Because these chapters have alot of information in them, I now remember they are completed. So there isn't anything you need to do for these powerpoints---you have them. No grade will be taken--but your quiz this Friday will come off of that handout.

Sorry for the confusion--
Mr. P

Oh Snap! Shhhhhh...It's the SBBB---aka Spring Break Blog Bonus....

For an  extra 100 points!!!! You have until Sunday night to do this.

Yep, Master P has struck again.

All this requires is one response to the question AND to someone else.

So far from our discussions and in class, what would be 1-2 things that you have learned up until now that you didn't realize or know about American Government/Politics? How has this changed your line of thinking?
