Three purposes of the political parties is one to help out people(us) discover our beliefs and connect them with others such as to put in place who we think should rule or govern the country, second a political party represents us or mainly talking our opinions of what is "better", and third it serves to unite people with similar thoughts and create a major bigger group. I think some opinions are good from some parties while sometimes they really do not make a great difference.
I agree with you. Those are good purposes for a political party. But I still think that we should not be labeled in anyway. I think political parties are just unimportant and they shouldn't determine who we chose to govern our country..
I agree with you about it helping us connect ourselves with them, but I also agree with Margarita about us not labeling eachother. It does cause more fighting and arguing sometimes even amongst our families.
I agree that political parties connect us too others that have similar believes. But I also agree with Margarita that we shouldn't be labeled and not to just have a label when choosing who comes into office.
The three purpose of political parties is one to help the people to match our beliefs with the representative we think who would be fit to become the governor, Second parties reach out on our beliefs whether we are forward or against a certain issues(abortion, marijuana, immigration, etc.) into their way of fixing to enforce it or let it fly by them and third they are set to create more support from people and form bigger groups whether it's Democratic, Republican and Independent. I think it good how they set up parties for people who have similar beliefs. but it causes more self-destruction when people in the party disagree with the majority and form other parties with different opinions.
I agree If more parties are developed or factions are broken off from existing parties, there would be division within the United States and may lead to civil war in the future.
I agree with Andres because it's something that's is very possible to happen in the future. If more parties get created more problems are going to occur, and that's not what out founding fathers would've wanted anyways in the first place.
The three purposes of a political party are to serve as a linkage institution, gain control of the government through elections and to channel the concerns of citizens. By being a linkage institution, these parties become a medium for the people to channel their concerns and express their ideas. These parties advocate certain beliefs and push for certain reforms or push for conservation. And by gaining the trust of the population and by gaining the votes of the population they win government offices and get to have control for as long as they can. And slowly but surely, they raise leaders and candidates for bigger offices in Washington and advertise their candidates. And once they have control of the government for as long as they do, they try to cooperate and compromise with the other competing political parties to continue to have control granted by the citizens.
I agree, it really does become a medium for everyone's opinion to be heard. It makes it easier for people to make a difference in how the government deals with issues.
Three purposes of political parties include, informing the people on current situations that are affecting the nation as a whole, it makes it easier electing someone into office due to the fact that people can choose who represents their views, and it makes the government easier to work for everyone other than just the elite. It helps the voice of the common man. In my opinion it does seem to work, to an extent. However, in some cases it just makes things really complicated, due to the fact that trouble may immerse in their own political parties.
I agree with you, the average person can have a voice with the party they choose. Since they have the same opinion, the average person will be sure that that represenetative will fight for that belief. And people don't always think the same in their own party and that does complicate issues sometimes.
In my opinion 3 purposes for political parties are to unite people in a certain conflict, fight for what we believe is right or necessary and give average people a voice in the nation. Political parties unite people with similar conflicts around the nation. People converge with the political party that is addressing a certain area of concern that they're having. Not everyone fights for the same believe and that's why I think in a way political parties are good. Different political parties fight for different beliefs so people can have a say in things and decide which candidate has their same beliefs. If there's a certain issue that the people feel needs to be addressed then they join the party that is addressing it and trying to fight for it. Finally they are the voice of the people. Average people can't directly talk to the president or to any really high chairman so that's why we have parties. People vote on the person that can "speak"" for them in a certain issue and expect them to fight for the issue like they would. I think that they work pretty good but there are problems because not all people think the same even if they are in the same party. There will be issues that they will have to overcome and sometimes the people won't be happy with the outcome.
I agree with Bere that parties unite people in conflicts. They allow peole to try to solve these conflicts by going trough all of the different possibilities for solutions. Having more than one political party may cause conflict for finding a solution but it also expands the solutions being looked at.
First, a political party should REPRESENT of a set of ideals that identify with the people. Democrats have their ideology and republicans their own. The people who decided follow the political party therefore, and for the most part, will share these ideas. The political parties are in the duty of taking these ideas to the government to achieve progress. They are the connection between the people and the govt. Second, political parties are there to SPREAD their ideology. This is shown through their extensive campaigns. A campaign is nothing more than an advertising war of what each party believes in and how they will satisfy their needs and those of the people. Any campaign's objective is to acquire the support and the votes of the US population. Lastly, a political party is one that should EXECUTE their ideals and suggestions and plans to a local and national level. The political parties should actively strive to accomplish the execution of their plans in order to upkeep the reputation of the party and to upkeep the numbers of voters that offer their support. For example, the presidential and local candidates in their campaigns promote future bills and laws to benefit the people. If elected, they are to use their resources and those of the party to carry out such plans.
I agree that there is a connection between the people and government and that the people's beliefs have to be taken into consideration. I also believe that a political party has to execute their ideals to a national level because they need to take action and succeed in their plans.
I do agree with you on how a political party should represent of a set of ideals that identify with the people.. Yes there is a connection between the people and the govt. and yes the people's beliefs have to be taken into consideration because most of the time what we try to speak out no one listens.. They hear, but they don't listen.
The three purposes that political parties serve to the public is select candidates, facilitate governance, and monitor the opposing party in power. Political parties nominate candidates for political office. They narrow the field from a multitude of wannabes to a manageable few credible candidates. This simplifies the voters' role and brings a certain order to what could be a chaotic electoral process. Parties also bring order to the process of policymaking. As party members, individual politicians have a ready-made group of allies that will usually cooperate with their efforts to pass and implement legislation. At the national level, this means that a rookie Congressperson arrives with a network of allies that will support his efforts and that he must support in turn. In addition, party alliances close the gap between the legislative and executive branches. While separated by the Constitution, the existence of political parties narrows the distance between the branches and helps them work together.Lastly, they monitor the opposing party in power because parties also serve as critical watchdogs for the public. The adversarial relationship between the major parties ensures that the party out of power (not in possession of the presidency) will keep a close eye on its opponent and notify the public of any wrongdoing or policy misstep.
I agree with you David, because like you say even tho a political party is not in power they keep an eye close on their enemy and also their allies so that If they make a false move or step then they can use that bad move against them and increase awareness of their own political party. Its like they saying "keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer".
The three purposes of a political party or parties are (1) Political parties are form to represent a group of people who share the same type of Ideology based on their religious beliefs and interpretation of what is righteous. (2) Political parties want to take control of the government itself and reform it in the shape of their own ideological way however in a legal and lawful way. (3)The parties are there to reach certain issues that other parties don't want to touch or propose. An so in a way they are there to try to join the nation as a whole but that is difficult. Just like we discussed in class, in the beginning their only existed ONE political party and this party was like a huge Network, but like a social Network messages get interrupted and a different message is received and this is some-what how the single party to way and started to break away and create their own network. Each network orbits a certain political view and is carried out by media and social sandal to bring in people who have the same ideology. Now each political party has a specific way that it works and that way is used to help it gain power and spread influence to gain possibility to send a candidate to run for Presidential Office.
The purposes for creating and having a political party is to represent the people with different beliefs, to inform the public of differing views in politics, and to establish a connection between the government and the people. Political parties work to inform the country of present issues that one may be questioning. Different point of views reach out to individuals and they have ability to decide what they are going to believe. Each political party concerns itself with certain topics of discussion which attract different followers to their party. Political parties aim to accomplish a goal and that is to be known so they can have someone representing their party in government. However, he or she must be a candidate and they want this person to represent who they are in order to address the issues they are concerned about. Political parties also organize the government by allowing politic officials to select sides and or select the issues of main concern. There are various different political parties that have different beliefs so each person has a choice to select what party to represent. Overall, in my opinion political parties are just labels that are highly unnecessary because not everyone gets along. It simply won't happen. Harmony itself does not even exist withing the same party.
I agree Vivian, the key to a political party is to adjust the publics opinion on politics. It is true people tend to choose who they believe is a good representation of their beliefs.
The 3 purposes of political parties, in my opinion, are to provide a voice for the people, serve as representation for a group as a whole, and allow for decisions regarding politics to be facilitated. Many people, at first, do not know exactly what is that they believe when it comes to politics. If they are exposed to the beliefs of others and the reasoning behind those beliefs then it allows them to decide whether or not they feel the same way. Others feel as though, not sharing an idea or belief with another will lead to little or no change, but when they see a group of people fighting for the same thing they believe in and speaking their minds about the issue it encouraged them to do the same, leading to an increase in political participation. When deciding who to vote for, many people tend to lean towards the candidate who shares similar beliefs because they serve as the vessel who can perform those changes the voter hopes for. The decision then becomes simple, as a voter will not usually vote for someone who does not believe in what they do nor shares similar views on an issue.
I believe that political parties are supposed to represent the publics, the ones that vote for them, and have the same ideology, opinion and beliefs. These representatives were chosen by the people in order for the party to be in control of government, and for there's issue to be heard and find solutions to those issues. Secondly I believe that political parties have the duty to inform their people about both good or bad news about what is going on in government and what isn't. Thirdly I believe that political parties ate supposed to unite the people with the same political socialization and ideology since they are all working towards the same goal just that the public is not always heard, but the chosen representatives have a higher position in which they can be heard.
I agree with what you are generally trying to say, but you kinda said it in a confusing manner. I do agree that parties should deliver news on their progress to the people that support them. That's why they have full time staffs in multiple offices all over.
I personally think the three purposes of political parties would have to be: Help to define specific issues, converge, and to choose. Talking from our own beliefs would help us define specific issues and help us know what's going on in the environment around us and help us hear what people have to say and what they think is right or wrong, in other words, converge. By converging what each one of us have to say we get to choose. Choose for ourselves, choose for our canidates. What is it specifically that you want to see change, and why?
I agree with karla. Political parties do define specific issues, but they only define isses they deem important enough. Though some topics they bring front and center and important and need to be addressed, not all of them are as important as those they push to the back.
I think the purposes of political parties are to be the voice of the people who agree with their views so they could he heard, be good representatives so other would be more open to joining their party, & to make sure the party's view are heard & understood in the best way possible.
I agree with Tamera because political parties are meant to represent people but only the ones who agree, some people just vote by judgement they do not read into the candidates. And some people are neither because they agree with views from both parties but they also disagree with some of their views, like in my case.
There are many reasons to why political parties exist. The three main reasons are to be the peoples voice, to serve as a rock for all those who are represented and to help out the federal governments needs. These work to have better communication with all governments. It's needed for the purpose of informing us about issues the federal gov't does not have the "time" to discuss with Americans. They want a message to be delivered to the public.
So, this is a question I am just "throwing" out there in cyberland, what happens when the political party (Republican and or Democratic party)is not meeting the needs of the people? What do you do? Not vote? Or become more involved? Is this why there are third parties?? I AM JUST Saying....lol. Good night people's in Happy-Land, home of the free, and the brave. See you tomorrow morning.
That never really crossed my mind but if I were in a position to chose I would say not vote. However, I believe this is why third parties are brought up for so that even if the two major parties (Republican and Democratic) don't comply to ones belief they can still "take their vote else where." Even if the third party didn't win the over all votes they can say they stole a portion of it by their stand on opening out their belief. This hurts the two major parties ,but can also show them what the people REALLY want.
All of your responses are GREAT!!! You ALL are doing a great job here in Happy-Land. Hope you are getting something out of the course. If you are learning some cool stuff, or things you didn't know, then I am good with that. Its all about moderation of awareness.....wow....deep stuff for me at almost 9:00 p.m. Night folks.
I beieve that the three main reason there is political parties is to represent the nations views, the people vote, and communities as a whole. Political parties represent the views of the nation by each state having represenatives that take the views and ethics of communities and voting respectively to that, and also with citizens vote.
I agree that political parties represent the nations views on particular subjects. They group the views into the parties and make platforms that represent the public's stance.
I as well agree that political parties do represent the nation's views. Although the nation by be split on their opinions on a particular issues, these concerns can be passed an issue of concern in Congress and becomes something that has to be addressed.
The main reasons for political parties is to one blind the people because a republicans choice and way of thinking is always the same and they rarely are looking for change they might say they want change but don't really push or strive to get change same goes for a democrat...and second they are setup up to divide the people and the nation...the third reason they are setup is to keep the system the way it is we laugh at change or disapprove of it...for instance everyone took the rent is to damn high as a joke but however he was actually seeking for change in the system
With the points you made about political parties, I can agree with them. Like George Washington said, America should not have any parties because they would only slow down things and cause confusion to citizens. One can also say that most of these groups really just do it for power and money which only corruption can come to the nation.
I agree with the point of the Republican party. It can make people second guess themselves in a way, assuming that change won't be good and in a sense would make them blind.
Political parties tend to serve for different purposes but overall it can be said that they represent the people with similar views, sponsor candidates, and raise awareness on certain issues and help influence the outcome of these issues. The representation of the people is one that makes the party, having a group of people with similar views and deciding how to handle our country's issues. Sponsoring candidates, having enough people in said parties to vote for candidates and making others aware of what is to be done. And lastly, being for or against a bill that changes the country. For example, Democrats more likely being for gay marriage while Republicans are against affect what is allowed, legally, in our nation.
I agree Martin, issues can be brought to light through political parties and to help make people want to change what's is going to be changed or what hasn't been changed.
The three purposes of political parties is usually based on what issues they support, help candidates for to achieve presidency, and influence and gain support from those that agrees with them. The democrats and republicans set up their own agenda and advertise it to the public to show what they are for and against in order to gain support. Before the time to elect a president, both sides and third parties nominates someone in their group to represent them and what they believe in. Once that person is elected, the party uses him/her to conduct their policies and gain their goals through that person. Since our "great and honorable" government" has been changing from one party to another lately, not much has decisions has been made to improve the economy and they get rid of each other's policies. Sooner or later they'll have to set their differences aside if they want to avoid depression, war, etc.
I agree, But people are always headed towards self-destruction even if they to avoid taking which they would take. Even the "great Government" even tried to help the public it would even more issues with the party and other's in congress and america in general. Sooner or later we may be in a civil war or better yet another great depression even a terrible one. Since we have so much population and limited workforce being effective by the economy as of now.
I agree with Andres that the purpose of political parties is to help their candidates and to gain support for them to achieve the presidency. I also think that the governments economy will continue to decline unless parties start working together to solve the problem.
Political parties tend to always share the same views as their followers, make sure their ideas are noticed or taken into consideration, and they also support and protect the ideas already set in law. Political parties try their best to have their ideas placed and they do this by getting the peoples support wich usually comes from people with the same ideologies. As they get the support from the people the intend to deliver so they push for their ideas. I belive that the roll of president strenghtens this idea more by having the president that shares the same ideas as you it makes things kinda easy. The president does need the support of congress also but if you can get both to line up then it make this a whole lot easier.
Three purposes for political parties are to unite people by their beliefs on who should govern or rule our count, to discover what our beliefs are, nd lastly they influence and gain support people that support the candidates. I honestly think that we should not be labeled in anyway. Our beliefs are ours nd whose to say that we have to be labled as something that really should have no importance over who we vote for. To me political parties are a waste of everyone's time.
I agree, some people change their opinions by the subject in matter, if we believe in something we should just believe in that. We waste our time fighting with the political parties and who's better than who, we get nothing done. We should focus more on what really matters, what the people need.
I agree, The candidate should just state their beliefs, views, and their plans. Thats what we should focus on more instead of wasting time and worrying about what political party they belong to.
A political party is an important tool to earning some ones vote in America. They serve for getting a voter's mind and vote by telling the crowd what they want to hear. They tend to bring people with similar thoughts of politics and help get someone ideal to their beliefs in politics. They also serve as a defense or a source for a candidate that wants to run for office. With a party, the candidate can raise money for funds, and can be useful when it comes to spreading a message to the masses. But in the end, a political party can get corrupted and will do anything to get their point across. It has happened in this nation before and its important to educate yourself before believing any of the parties in America.
I would have to disagree with you on some points. If they serve as a defense for candidates why did we even vote for them in the first play while they ran for office. If they say lies by telling us what we hear then why many times we actually get what they say? In my view political parties are a problem but we do have a say of what goes on.
I believe that political parties are first a game being played. It's like who can get the most points (votes) with their bribes of change. The winner gets to provoke the things they want in their favor. Second, the parties cause divide of our nation. The parties will show what they have to offer and get people to lean on different sides. The people then keep fighting for what they want and the parties go around the idea of compromise. Lastly, political parties are a complete waste of money. There is is no sense in the millions being spent that can be put to a better use. Our country is focused on the wrong things with these political parties and that I think should not exist.
I agree with jorge because the people running do say anything they possible can to get elected. Even if they dont do want they say they are trying to change.
The three purposes of political parties are to seperate the public into categories, gain different perspectives, and have a sense of supremacy over another party. Basically the parties job is to persuade the group at hand that their beliefs are what matters and that by choosing that certain party the indivisual will easily access all their values at once.
There are many reasons to why political parties exist. The three main reasons are to be the people’s voice, to serve for all those who are represented and to help out the federal governments. It's needed for the purpose of informing us about issues the federal government since they don’t have the "time" to discuss with the people. They want a message to be delivered to the voters.
I agree with what you said about the parties informing the people about issues that are going on. Often people are left in the dark and later they suffer the consequences. I agree that they should be kept informed at all times.
The purpose of political parties is to serve as a linkage institution connecting the people to the government, group people by their ideologies, and to select candidates to voice the people’s opinion. Political parties allow people to express their opinions and concerns about the government and allow the people to choose candidates that will work to enact the policies they favor. They also group people by their beliefs. Democrats have different views on abortion, national security, and economic policies than Republicans. They work by creating groups with similar views and interests. Then they elect representatives to run for elections and speak for people. In my opinion political parties work because it would be more chaotic since representatives would all have very different views. Parties help organize the government and make it easier for voters.
I completely agree with you! We all have opinions that we would like to get out, but doing it alone is tough. These political parties consist of people who may have similar opinions. So they can organize their standpoints and try to promote their opinions.
Political parties not only serve as a representation of a portion of the population's belief but also as a build board that show there are others who support the same cause or belief. Political parties also help encourage registered voters to participate in upcoming election to help gather more votes from voters who agree with political party cause. Finally, political parties help selecting a good candidate that can be the voice representation for the rest of the party members to ensure that he or she be elected to carry out their political socialization belief into the government where they will then help organize.
Three reasons we have political parties is that the people need someone to voice out their opinions, connect people to the government, and try to keep history from repeating itself. Not everyone can voice their opinions directly, they have political parties that can do it for them. People wouldn't know what is going on in the government if it wasn't for political parties, they help people connect to it by voting, etc.. Political parties, want to help "change" and make things "better", most of the time not a lot gets done due to the different parties in congress. Sometimes trying to help makes it worse.
That is how political parties should run but of the most time is just interest on what they can get that drives what they say, but like you said they are here to represent us. Sadly most of the time they don't get much or anything done.
Hey Mayda, I totally agree with you, political parties make it easier for people to get involved in people to relate and connect with the issue being faced. i also agree with you when you said, "people need someone to voice out their opinions" because they will feel safer and more comfortable, when voting for a candidate who relates to them , and has faced the same problem they have.
Three purposes of political parties are linkage, organizing the government, and running candidates for political party. Political party’s most of the time aren’t honest about what they say. They tend to stretch the truth out. I think that interest groups are in their “ back pocket” and they do what they can to please them, but of course have what people want in their mind.
Political parties serve as ways for the people to get their word out to the government, to bring people with certain interests together to help with their goals, and to bring awareness to issues that people weren't aware of before. Through political parties we the people can change things for the better instead of for the money.
I agree! Political parties are suppose to represent us within the political atmosphere and give us a voice. We put our complete trust within our party members and in return expect a reasonable mind in the inner-workings of our government.
The point is to change things, and that's why the political parties are there to represent, but sadly things don't work that way. Many do put their complete trust is the government and only end up getting disappointed. The government does what they think is "best" than what is actually best.
In my opinion political parties, are good when you dont like the presidents that are running to be our next president. They help by taking away votes, also by expressing opinions of how America should be runned. Example "The rent is to DAMN HIGH!"
The three main purposes of a political party should be to connect people with the government, represent the people who have the same political view as the party, and lastly to try to close the gap of distrust between the people and the government. The connection between the people and the government is very important because they need to feel included and feel like they have a clue as to what is going on with issues that involves them. The people need someone to be their voice in government. They hope that the political parties will do just that and stand up for them when they are being ignored and put aside. In past years and even now the gap of distrust in the government has increased in size. In other words, the people think that the government lies and lies. While that may be true, the political parties have to try to decrease the size of the gap. They have to try to restore the trust that has been lost. Political Parties serve many purposes all of them should benefit the people of this country and help them feel secure.
I agree with you on all three points. The linkage between the people and the government is extremely important in keeping us informed "as much as they can. However, I feel that everything comes with a catch and the government doesn't give us those details.
The three main purposes of political parties is to link the government and the people, represent the voters and to gain support for their to accomplish their goals. Political parties work by telling the people what they want to hear in order to get their vote but most of the time they never do what they promised. They also waste millions of dollars to help their candidate win instead of using the money to help the people.
I agree that candidates hardly ever do what they actually say they will, and that its a complete waste of money trying to get them to win when the money could be better spent.
Political parties work by getting the candidate of that certain party recognition as well as the most votes to win office. One main purpose of political parties is to connect people to the government this works in a way that they let the public know what their party is wanting to do for the people(even though they don't tell us everything). Second they raise money for the candidate to be elected for office such as campaigning (money gone to waste). Lastly, they represent people with certain beliefs for example Republicans and democrats have different view point on such things and supply a label for the presidential candidate.
The first good reason is to keep the people connected to the government, state and national. The second is to allow the people to have a voice and allow them to have changes. The third is to allow the people with like minds converge and come up with solutions to a variety of problems.
Political parties were made for many different reasons and are still around, and will be for a while, because of the three main reasons. The first main reason is to represent the 'people's beliefs' though once in office either do very little on these subject or the opposite of what they said would be done in their campaign. Another reson would be to keep the oposing party in check when their in office, as shown to day the president andsenate are both ddemocrats while the house is republican. The third main reason is to raise certain issues to be priority in the publics eye while also hiding other important issues they choose not to address.
Three reasons of political parties are one, they are the voice of the different beliefs. The second would be that they each focus on what they believe and what they would like to change. The last is that they keep us connected to the government. However I do believe that cause more chaos between society. Everyone always wants to be right so when it comes to elections people are always going back and forth about who to vote for. Its easier to just stick to what you believe and vote for who you want to and stop trying to change peoples minds. I think they should have just stuck to what Washington said and just not form parties.
I think political parties were suppose to give the everyday common citizen a voice,a hand, and a soul within our government in which we pledge our allegiance to. These parties were suppose to bridge the gap between our ideas and Washington. With so much distrust with our government we have to place our trust with our parties. lastly, the purpose of political parties is to shape America, not for special interest groups, but for the struggling American who can barely afford "trust." These parties are suppose to act as ears as we, the people, shout our concerns and cry out ideas to our parties and use their political hands to create a better tomorrow. This is how I think political parties function, ideally.
In a way I do think that political parties are the voice of the people as long as they are in favor of them. That would be my opinion or way of thinking.
Yup, Lionel Is right, in my opinion. They primarily serve to represent the people and do what is right for us as a whole. we as citizens can choose what groups to associate ourselves with.
In my opinion the purpose for political parties is to bring people together to gain control of the government. They tell the people quite a few things but not specifically everything. Its only like a bate kind of thing. Political parties also develop policies that are in the best interest for the people or the groups that are in support of them. They make people or followers believe for the most part everything they say that will be done and can be done. The third thing that political parties do is orgonize and persuade voters to elect their candidates in which whom they are in favor of. They tell us all of the goods of the candidates to asure that we change our mind set if already set on one to the other.
Three purposes of having political parties are to share similar ideas between groups of people, promote changes and ideas towards making life in a country "better", and to keep a country from falling into a dictatorship. By creating political parties, we maintain different ideologies rather than conforming to one (as it would in a one-party system). Conforming into one ideology eventually leads into a dictatorship, as we have seen with Germany. By promoting changes or ideas to the people, we develop political socialization and have a say in how some of the nation's issues should be handled. By having political parties, we relate to people who have similar ideas and provide candidates to become leaders, spreading and reinforcing those ideas.
I agree with you about sharing similar ideas. Nobody wants to be stuck with people that they can't agree on something. Political parties can help people felt along with in each other.
While I agree with you, don't you think that sometimes when candidates and even voters place party alliances before common sense or what's best for the country as a whole can lead to the deterioration of our democracy?
First purposes for political parties is to give people a wider variety of I ideas to choose from , not just one. Help people understand from different point of views. Second purposes is so people can be in one and have similarities with in the group and alliance can be form with in them. Third purpose is for what region of people you fit in with. Is like so you won't be with the wrong crowd of people and the ideas are opposite of yours.
I Agree it does give people more ideas to choose from and think about. When on your parties side it also brings up differnet ideas that you may also agree on and have opinions to express.
Three purposes of political parties: -to serve as linkage institutions and connect people to the government through elections -decentralizes the US Federal system and prevents power from being centralized around one specific group -allows people to unite and express their concerns to the federal government and helps society establish their own political ideology thus promoting political socialization
In my opinion, the three MAIN purposes for the existence of political parties, are that they give the people of the United States several views on an issue, and allows them to decide how it would be best to handle the problem. The second purpose for political parties is to allow the voices of many people to be heard, by having them elect representatives into office. The third purpose, for the importance of political parties, is the diversity for which the represent. This diversity broadens the views of the government
3 purposes of political parties are to bring the People closer to the government, to define where the people stand on an issue and uniting the people or helping us reach a compromise. Political parties work as a group of similar minded people coming together to elect an individual who better represents their beliefs.
I agree with you Candy. Political parties should definitely unite people within the support of the party and across other parties through compromises. We have had several compromises done between interest groups all over our history, and it is one of the legacies that political parties should try to follow and upkeep.
Three main purposes of political parties are to give voice to a group of people's interests. Also to organize elections by nominating candidates and seeking office. Finally they organize government and policy making attempting to use the institutions of government to reflect what the voters want.
I believe that political parties are supposed to inform the people telling them what's going on. The changes that are being made whether they are good news or bad. Secondly political parties are there to represent the public, their beliefs and ideas. Thirdly I believe that political parties are supposed to unite the people who have the same ideas, beliefs and ideologies. This will make the public share their ideas about their wants and needs and at the same time they could be heard.
The three main puposes to having political parties are to help everyone establish there own opinions in whats going on. It brings the government and people together by getting involved within the country, and Each party helps a certain group out and trys to fight for certain rights.
The main purpose of political parties is to get the people that have the same beliefs together. They choose a leader to represent them and their beliefs. They also aid in keeping the government in control.
The main purpose of the goverment are the following. REPRESENTATION - To display themselves to us to gain are vote by there ideas on many problems, in a way as they are trying to sell thems sells like a product. SOCIALIZATION - To debate and campaign in electoral and by branching out to education institutions along the way. ORGANISATION OF GOVERNMENT - When a political party gains major control of the goverment political assembly is to control what happens to that goverment and it's people.
Three purposes of political parties are to represent the people by connecting with them and agreeing on a subject, for the voice of the citizens to be heard and also to raise awareness on a certain subject that is going on to get more votes. In my opinion I think political parties causes more problems because one party will try to defeat the other one by talking down upon them. So I think there shouldn't be parties but instead just for the person running to state their opinions, beliefs ,and how they plan to make the country better
But parties are there to help ensure that the person running gets more votes in than the opposing candidate. They provide the brains and work on the campaigns while the candidate sits back and provides the face of the campaign.
There are many purposes for political parties, but a couple main reasons for the creation of factions is to allow the people the choice to be able to decide what they want. Humans always need choices, we’re constantly changing our minds on certain topics that the government throws at us, and we need a clear, organized way to reach out to the government and that’s through political parties. We could still reach out to the government through protests and other sorts of media, but I’ll rather join a party with the same views as mine instead of getting pepper sprayed or worst get thrown into jail because I was “using” my right to freedom of speech. I believe there’s people that join political parties, or vote for the candidate in that party due to race, or other insignificant bias opinions. In reality this is what I think about political parties. I believe that they’re really ignorant, and I don’t think they help out our country as we really want them to. I could vote for the next Republican candidate just because he had one similar view as me, and If you really think about it, if you vote for a candidate that you like and one day go to a meet and greet he or she will probably not care about you or the people there. At the end of the day, it’s all about the money. Money talks, and big brother talks quietly behind our backs
I agree political parties have only increased internal conflicts and primarily focus on mainstream issues neglecting the other issues that are just as vital. This is probably George Washington warned of factions.
The three main purposes of political parties are to: to get people to GOTV, provide a positive example of what they are representing and are willing to do for everyones satisfaction, and finally speak negatively about the other parties to get the people to prefer one party over the other.
I believe that the three main purposes of political parties are to unite people with the same view, prevent too much power from staying in one particular party and allow people the chance to voice their and opinion and have a chance to participate in politics.
The three purposes of political parties are to seperate the public into categories, gain different perspectives, and have a sense of supremacy over another party. Basically the parties job is to persuade the vote of a group of people that have the same beliefs. Also, the parties need to inform the voters to see where they stand.
One of the reasons for political parties is so it can put potential voters beliefs in a group on certain issues in this country. Many people will agree on their issues of importance in the U.S. and that is one of the reasons for political parties. Another reason is to help uneducated voters decide on a canidate to choose from becasuse political parties simpleize beliefs on issues in the United States. The third reason is to mobilize voters by them gettinbg involved in helping their favortized canidate to win the elction and send out their opinions on why their party should win out to the media and to others.
I agree with Omar political parties help the uneducated to assist them who to vote for due to heavily media coverage and by giving the people a path on where the candidate stands on most of the issues.
In my opinion political parties were designed to connect the people to the government, prevent the government from overpowering the people, and to allow ideals to be voiced so progress can be sprouted for this nation. Today, however seems to revolve more around on getting into office and the one thing so many people struggle to earn, the dollar. Greed has corrupted out political parties which in turn infects the government and hurts the people.
I agree with you Jairo, because through the goverment the voices of the people are able to be heard and with agreeing with one of the political party leaders something can be done about it.
I agree that nowadays it seems that political parties revolve more around the wrong things. It's more like a popularity game. Whoever is liked more wins. Corruption has come due to the greed and the desire for money and recognition from the entire country. Corruption has indeed affected the government and us as the American people.
The three purposes of politicla parties are to gain public opinion, make opinions of opposing side compromise, and to inform the people of the issues thats currently happening.
The 3 purposes of political parties are to: 1. Influence people's views and get them to support them for elections and passing of laws or bills. 2. Get people to vote and be involved in their nations government. 3. Represent the people that support them. They have goals that they want to reach so they have all these debates and campaign messages to persuade people to be on their side and watch America prosper.
first political parties were established to make political views simpilar. they help seperate beliefs of diffrent canidates. Second it helps uneducated people make up there decisons by makeing some things easier to understand. Third it gives canidates sort of a back up on what they belive is right.
3 reasons why political parties exist are, I believe, to encourage people to become active in the government and debate with one another about what to change in our nation, to represent a group of average people and make their beliefs a reality, and to give people information on topics, which might greatly affect the nation.
The three reasons, in my opinion, why there are political parties are: 1. to connect the average American to the government and its current issues 2. to let the voices of the people be heard through a select group, being the political parties and 3. to allow Americans with the same views to collaborate together and attempt to reach a common goal.
Political parties work to gain recognition in the country and try to succeed in gaining the trust of Americans to set new policies. They attempt to make certain points that are supposed to better the country in specific ways.
The three main reasons for the purpose of political parties, in my opinion, is first: it brings people with similar ideas together to do something about different issues. Second, they connect people to the government by electing a representative to represent their ideas at a greater power. They give voice to the citizens. Third, political parties bring up awareness for issues that may not be known to the public eye, but need to be addressed. Political parties work to get votes for a certain candidate... Political parties, in my opinion, are just a way of labeling one self as "being part of something". Some political parties being up good points, but others make no difference.
Three purposes of a political party is to seek out problems that will help better the country, unite the people with the same ideology, and allow people to voice out their opinion on certain issues that are occurring. People in the same political party and even with the same views as them and the candidate have the opportunity to support their candidate with the hope of them winning.
Three purposes of a political party is to nominate candidates for office, they dicide who would be competing for power in the government, educate/inform the people, tell people what is going on on the government and give them information so they can make their decisions. And last organize the government and help the people to express themselves.
I believe that 3 purposes of a political party are 1) To adress a certain issue or problem. 2) Also to put one of their own in office so that there ideas can be executed. 3) To also pass on their ideas to others and try to make others see as they do on the subject matter
I believe the three purposes of a political party are to gain the peoples opinion, crate ideas on how to better the country, and lastly to seperate peoples beliefs.
they do try to gain peoples oppinion but what they try to do more often is to slander the opposing party to discredit them thus gaining more trust for their own party
The three main purposes of political parties are to firstly seperate public opinion and beliefs into categories, secondly give public opinion a chance to be heard, and lastly to come up with different ideas to better enhance the country.
I disagree with your first reason because the reason for political parties isn't necessarily to separate the public but to unite the public with similar ideas. That's where the separation comes in, its simply an aftermath of uniting a portion of a community.
I believe that political parties are set up for 1) People want to be a part of something they want their voice to be heard not only in their own state but nationwide. If there is a problem and it is of a major concern to the community the political party will make it an issue of importance and try to do something about it. 2) Not all people agree on the same thing thus why political parties are all around. Ex. The rent is too damn high. Their belief is that the rent well is too damn high. They have the freedom to form a political party and do what they can to get their beliefs out into the community. and 3) I believe that with a political party if someone wants to get their voice hear I think that by joining or forming a political party will do not only them a good thing but a good favor to all the people who would agree upon the issue that is being formed.
One purpose of political parties is to be a means of connecting the public to the government. Another purpose of political parties is to help show voters political beliefs and views about issues in America. A third purpose of political parties is to seek out and nominate a candidate to represent them and their party. These parties work by forming political views and opinions and by trying to gain support with the use of numbers to gain strength.
I believe with raul because in a sense the people who are taking part of the political parties need to know not only whats going on in there particular party but whats going out throughout the country. People need to work together and get things done right. (Might never happen but yeah)
Although I do not believe in the existence of political parties, their reasons for being are presented through understandable measures. Such as to unite people with ideologies of handling certain situations: natural disasters, famine, and/or war to name a few. Next, political parties also elect candidates to run for presidency, candidate will attempt to advance the parties beliefs and operations to better the country. Finally to voice the opinion of an aggregated people who share similar ideas to pressure the government, the Congress for example, to vote for or against certain issues.
The three purposes of political parties are as follows, 1. Serve as linkage institutions to connect people to the government through elections. 2. Decentralizes the US Federal system and prevents power from resting entirely on one group by nominating/supporting candidates to hold public office. 3. Allows people with shared ideologies to come together and express their concerns to the federal government in hopes of having their opinions heard. Political parties work by giving people a group to identify with based on their political views.
i believe that political parties give the citizins a vioce in government, raise awareness on issues, and are the cause of a unproductive government at times. the citizins have a voice because they vote for the political party they agree with the most they raise awareness on issues like "the rent is too dam high political party". and due to having a majority of congress and senate being a part of one party or the other some times they do not compromise at all or take for every to pass laws . although some times its would be bad to rush the government and pass laws without reviewing them first *cough the obama care health reform cough*
Three purposes of a political party is to keep the people informed of the government, have a group of people that have the same beliefs, and be able to bring ideas to the government on how to solve an issue.
I agree with you that ,"To keep the people informed of the government" is a good purpose of a political party because it is always good to keep the people informed of what is happening around them.
Political parties were created in order to be for the people and where they stand on issues and which group or political party they belong to. Another reason political parties are created is because the amount of funding they receive. Another factor is how the voters feel like they are part of government themselves by sharing same beliefs as the candidates that are running and feel like there voice will be heard .
I agree with you in saying that one aspect of political parties is for the voters to feel a part of their government and actually make a difference through their votes and voice
I believe the three purposes of political parties are to 1. help citizens discover our beliefs, such as to vote who we think should rule or govern our country. 2. Political parties help us voice our beliefs whether we are for or against certain issues such as abortion, immigration, same sex marriage, etc. 3. Political parties also help seperate different beliefs.
1. Social identitiy: this gives people the chance to identify who they are as an individual and they're beliefs as an American citizen and build upon that
2.History: in the past there has always been a disagreement on how our government should be run. The difference between two groups of people is the reason for this dispute
3.To change politics: each political party has set out to change the way the government is being run. There is always a constant change in politics due to office changes between political parties.
The three purposes of political parties are to bring the people together to achieve control of the government, organize and persuade voters to elect their candidates to office, and develop policies favorable to their interests or the groups that support them. The political parties perform an important task in the government. The purpose of political parties is to nominate candidates for public office and to get as many of them elected as possible. Registering as a democrat or republican makes them members of a political party. I believe that political parties want as many people involved as possible. I believe that political parties represent groups as well as individuals.
Based on my political socialization the purposes of political parties should be to reach similar goals and understandings, to help only those that truly support the cause, and to purging the disease that plagues the land, whether they're political or social issues.
In my opinion the 3 puroses of the political parties are to bring the people together by disputing different issues thus people will simpethis with one another depending on their views the second is to allow the people to have a say in the union by letting them to vote even though one side ultimately wins it let's people have a hope for what they believe to be the issue to be reform or not...lastly the parties are here to make reforms in some issues and let other to contienue as they were is there responsabily as elected members to do so
The three purposes for political parties are to unite a group of people with the same beliefs, offer ideas and solutions for certain political issues, and to not only inform the public of issues, but to try and persuade them into believing the same as that specific political party. People in the same political party stand by each others beliefs and are there to support each other and recruit more people. They come together and with their opinions and values offer solutions for political or social issues. Political parties pretty much just unite people with the same beliefs and goals, it's kind of like any organization, just people working together to reach a common goal.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Those are good purposes for a political party. But I still think that we should not be labeled in anyway. I think political parties are just unimportant and they shouldn't determine who we chose to govern our country..
DeleteI agree with you about it helping us connect ourselves with them, but I also agree with Margarita about us not labeling eachother. It does cause more fighting and arguing sometimes even amongst our families.
DeleteI agree that political parties connect us too others that have similar believes. But I also agree with Margarita that we shouldn't be labeled and not to just have a label when choosing who comes into office.
DeleteI agree with your views on how the people decide who they are govern by and how they should be united by similar interests.
DeleteThe three purpose of political parties is one to help the people to match our beliefs with the representative we think who would be fit to become the governor, Second parties reach out on our beliefs whether we are forward or against a certain issues(abortion, marijuana, immigration, etc.) into their way of fixing to enforce it or let it fly by them and third they are set to create more support from people and form bigger groups whether it's Democratic, Republican and Independent. I think it good how they set up parties for people who have similar beliefs. but it causes more self-destruction when people in the party disagree with the majority and form other parties with different opinions.
ReplyDeleteThe creation of parties itself destroys the beliefs of people and blinds them into believing something just because their party favors that
DeleteI agree If more parties are developed or factions are broken off from existing parties, there would be division within the United States and may lead to civil war in the future.
Deletetotally agree with andres more parties simply will create more problems if you play with fire your going to get burnt.
DeleteI agree with Andres because it's something that's is very possible to happen in the future. If more parties get created more problems are going to occur, and that's not what out founding fathers would've wanted anyways in the first place.
DeleteThe three purposes of a political party are to serve as a linkage institution, gain control of the government through elections and to channel the concerns of citizens.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it really does become a medium for everyone's opinion to be heard. It makes it easier for people to make a difference in how the government deals with issues.
DeleteI agree, it really does become a medium for the people's opinion to be heard.
DeleteThree purposes of political parties include, informing the people on current situations that are affecting the nation as a whole, it makes it easier electing someone into office due to the fact that people can choose who represents their views, and it makes the government easier to work for everyone other than just the elite. It helps the voice of the common man. In my opinion it does seem to work, to an extent. However, in some cases it just makes things really complicated, due to the fact that trouble may immerse in their own political parties.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, the average person can have a voice with the party they choose. Since they have the same opinion, the average person will be sure that that represenetative will fight for that belief. And people don't always think the same in their own party and that does complicate issues sometimes.
DeleteI agree. Speaking up and the confidence to do so comes with the realization and encouragement that others share your belief of the issue.
DeleteIn my opinion 3 purposes for political parties are to unite people in a certain conflict, fight for what we believe is right or necessary and give average people a voice in the nation.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Bere that parties unite people in conflicts. They allow peole to try to solve these conflicts by going trough all of the different possibilities for solutions. Having more than one political party may cause conflict for finding a solution but it also expands the solutions being looked at.
DeleteP.S. BERE'S AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteSecond, political parties are there to SPREAD their ideology.
DeleteI do agree with you on how a political party should represent of a set of ideals that identify with the people.. Yes there is a connection between the people and the govt. and yes the people's beliefs have to be taken into consideration because most of the time what we try to speak out no one listens.. They hear, but they don't listen.
DeleteThe three purposes that political parties serve to the public is select candidates, facilitate governance, and monitor the opposing party in power.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you David, because like you say even tho a political party is not in power they keep an eye close on their enemy and also their allies so that If they make a false move or step then they can use that bad move against them and increase awareness of their own political party. Its like they saying "keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer".
DeleteThe three purposes of a political party or parties are (1) Political parties are form to represent a group of people who share the same type of Ideology based on their religious beliefs and interpretation of what is righteous.
ReplyDeleteThe purposes for creating and having a political party is to represent the people with different beliefs, to inform the public of differing views in politics, and to establish a connection between the government and the people.
ReplyDeleteI agree Vivian, the key to a political party is to adjust the publics opinion on politics. It is true people tend to choose who they believe is a good representation of their beliefs.
DeleteThe 3 purposes of political parties, in my opinion, are to provide a voice for the people, serve as representation for a group as a whole, and allow for decisions regarding politics to be facilitated.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! Hope you get to feeling better!!
DeleteI believe that political parties are supposed to represent the publics, the ones that vote for them, and have the same ideology, opinion and beliefs.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you are generally trying to say, but you kinda said it in a confusing manner. I do agree that parties should deliver news on their progress to the people that support them. That's why they have full time staffs in multiple offices all over.
DeleteYou are correct on that people select whom they believe will represent their opinions and who should be in control of government.
DeleteGreat use of vocabulary Jason!
DeleteI personally think the three purposes of political parties would have to be: Help to define specific issues, converge, and to choose.
ReplyDeleteI agree with karla. Political parties do define specific issues, but they only define isses they deem important enough. Though some topics they bring front and center and important and need to be addressed, not all of them are as important as those they push to the back.
DeleteI think the purposes of political parties are to be the voice of the people who agree with their views so they could he heard, be good representatives so other would be more open to joining their party, & to make sure the party's view are heard & understood in the best way possible.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tamera because political parties are meant to represent people but only the ones who agree, some people just vote by judgement they do not read into the candidates. And some people are neither because they agree with views from both parties but they also disagree with some of their views, like in my case.
DeleteThere are many reasons to why political parties exist.
ReplyDeleteSo, this is a question I am just "throwing" out there in cyberland, what happens when the political party (Republican and or Democratic party)is not meeting the needs of the people? What do you do? Not vote? Or become more involved? Is this why there are third parties?? I AM JUST Saying....lol. Good night people's in Happy-Land, home of the free, and the brave. See you tomorrow morning.
ReplyDeleteThat never really crossed my mind but if I were in a position to chose I would say not vote.
DeleteAll of your responses are GREAT!!! You ALL are doing a great job here in Happy-Land. Hope you are getting something out of the course. If you are learning some cool stuff, or things you didn't know, then I am good with that. Its all about moderation of awareness.....wow....deep stuff for me at almost 9:00 p.m. Night folks.
ReplyDeleteI beieve that the three main reason there is political parties is to represent the nations views, the people vote, and communities as a whole. Political parties represent the views of the nation by each state having represenatives that take the views and ethics of communities and voting respectively to that, and also with citizens vote.
ReplyDeleteI agree that political parties represent the nations views on particular subjects. They group the views into the parties and make platforms that represent the public's stance.
DeleteI as well agree that political parties do represent the nation's views. Although the nation by be split on their opinions on a particular issues, these concerns can be passed an issue of concern in Congress and becomes something that has to be addressed.
DeleteI agree with Jorge. Through the nations voye the people can come together and make a difference.
DeleteThe main reasons for political parties is to one blind the people because a republicans choice and way of thinking is always the same and they rarely are looking for change they might say they want change but don't really push or strive to get change same goes for a democrat...and second they are setup up to divide the people and the nation...the third reason they are setup is to keep the system the way it is we laugh at change or disapprove of it...for instance everyone took the rent is to damn high as a joke but however he was actually seeking for change in the system
ReplyDeleteWith the points you made about political parties, I can agree with them. Like George Washington said, America should not have any parties because they would only slow down things and cause confusion to citizens. One can also say that most of these groups really just do it for power and money which only corruption can come to the nation.
DeleteI agree with the point of the Republican party. It can make people second guess themselves in a way, assuming that change won't be good and in a sense would make them blind.
Deletei agree because th u.s. was fine before political patries and will still be fine withvout them now.
DeletePolitical parties tend to serve for different purposes but overall it can be said that they represent the people with similar views, sponsor candidates, and raise awareness on certain issues and help influence the outcome of these issues.
ReplyDeleteI agree Martin, issues can be brought to light through political parties and to help make people want to change what's is going to be changed or what hasn't been changed.
DeleteThe three purposes of political parties is usually based on what issues they support, help candidates for to achieve presidency, and influence and gain support from those that agrees with them.
ReplyDeleteI agree, But people are always headed towards self-destruction even if they to avoid taking which they would take. Even the "great Government" even tried to help the public it would even more issues with the party and other's in congress and america in general. Sooner or later we may be in a civil war or better yet another great depression even a terrible one. Since we have so much population and limited workforce being effective by the economy as of now.
DeleteI agree with Andres that the purpose of political parties is to help their candidates and to gain support for them to achieve the presidency. I also think that the governments economy will continue to decline unless parties start working together to solve the problem.
DeletePolitical parties tend to always share the same views as their followers, make sure their ideas are noticed or taken into consideration, and they also support and protect the ideas already set in law.
ReplyDeleteThree purposes for political parties are to unite people by their beliefs on who should govern or rule our count, to discover what our beliefs are, nd lastly they influence and gain support people that support the candidates. I honestly think that we should not be labeled in anyway. Our beliefs are ours nd whose to say that we have to be labled as something that really should have no importance over who we vote for. To me political parties are a waste of everyone's time.
ReplyDeleteI agree, some people change their opinions by the subject in matter, if we believe in something we should just believe in that. We waste our time fighting with the political parties and who's better than who, we get nothing done. We should focus more on what really matters, what the people need.
DeleteI agree, The candidate should just state their beliefs, views, and their plans. Thats what we should focus on more instead of wasting time and worrying about what political party they belong to.
DeleteA political party is an important tool to earning some ones vote in America.
ReplyDeleteI would have to disagree with you on some points. If they serve as a defense for candidates why did we even vote for them in the first play while they ran for office. If they say lies by telling us what we hear then why many times we actually get what they say? In my view political parties are a problem but we do have a say of what goes on.
DeleteI believe that political parties are first a game being played.
ReplyDeleteI agree with jorge because the people running do say anything they possible can to get elected. Even if they dont do want they say they are trying to change.
DeleteThe three purposes of political parties are to seperate the public into categories, gain different perspectives, and have a sense of supremacy over another party. Basically the parties job is to persuade the group at hand that their beliefs are what matters and that by choosing that certain party the indivisual will easily access all their values at once.
ReplyDeleteThere are many reasons to why political parties exist. The three main reasons are to be the people’s voice, to serve for all those who are represented and to help out the federal governments. It's needed for the purpose of informing us about issues the federal government since they don’t have the "time" to discuss with the people. They want a message to be delivered to the voters.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you said about the parties informing the people about issues that are going on. Often people are left in the dark and later they suffer the consequences. I agree that they should be kept informed at all times.
DeleteYeah I agree with you Yarely you have a good point.
DeleteThe purpose of political parties is to serve as a linkage institution connecting the people to the government, group people by their ideologies, and to select candidates to voice the people’s opinion.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you! We all have opinions that we would like to get out, but doing it alone is tough. These political parties consist of people who may have similar opinions. So they can organize their standpoints and try to promote their opinions.
DeletePolitical parties not only serve as a representation of a portion of the population's belief but also as a build board that show there are others who support the same cause or belief.
ReplyDeleteThree reasons we have political parties is that the people need someone to voice out their opinions, connect people to the government, and try to keep history from repeating itself.
ReplyDeleteThat is how political parties should run but of the most time is just interest on what they can get that drives what they say, but like you said they are here to represent us. Sadly most of the time they don't get much or anything done.
DeleteHey Mayda, I totally agree with you, political parties make it easier for people to get involved in people to relate and connect with the issue being faced. i also agree with you when you said, "people need someone to voice out their opinions" because they will feel safer and more comfortable, when voting for a candidate who relates to them , and has faced the same problem they have.
DeleteThree purposes of political parties are linkage, organizing the government, and running candidates for political party. Political party’s most of the time aren’t honest about what they say. They tend to stretch the truth out. I think that interest groups are in their “ back pocket” and they do what they can to please them, but of course have what people want in their mind.
ReplyDeletePolitical parties serve as ways for the people to get their word out to the government, to bring people with certain interests together to help with their goals, and to bring awareness to issues that people weren't aware of before. Through political parties we the people can change things for the better instead of for the money.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Political parties are suppose to represent us within the political atmosphere and give us a voice. We put our complete trust within our party members and in return expect a reasonable mind in the inner-workings of our government.
DeleteThe point is to change things, and that's why the political parties are there to represent, but sadly things don't work that way. Many do put their complete trust is the government and only end up getting disappointed. The government does what they think is "best" than what is actually best.
DeleteIn my opinion political parties, are good when you dont like the presidents that are running to be our next president. They help by taking away votes, also by expressing opinions of how America should be runned. Example "The rent is to DAMN HIGH!"
ReplyDeleteThe three main purposes of a political party should be to connect people with the government, represent the people who have the same political view as the party, and lastly to try to close the gap of distrust between the people and the government.
ReplyDeleteThe connection between the people and the government is very important because they need to feel included and feel like they have a clue as to what is going on with issues that involves them.
DeleteI gree, one of the main purposes of political parties is to represent the people who share the same views.
DeleteThe three main purposes of political parties is to link the government and the people, represent the voters and to gain support for their to accomplish their goals. Political parties work by telling the people what they want to hear in order to get their vote but most of the time they never do what they promised. They also waste millions of dollars to help their candidate win instead of using the money to help the people.
ReplyDeleteI agree that candidates hardly ever do what they actually say they will, and that its a complete waste of money trying to get them to win when the money could be better spent.
DeletePolitical parties work by getting the candidate of that certain party recognition as well as the most votes to win office.
ReplyDeleteThe first good reason is to keep the people connected to the government, state and national. The second is to allow the people to have a voice and allow them to have changes. The third is to allow the people with like minds converge and come up with solutions to a variety of problems.
ReplyDeletePolitical parties were made for many different reasons and are still around, and will be for a while, because of the three main reasons.
ReplyDeleteThree reasons of political parties are one, they are the voice of the different beliefs.
ReplyDeleteI think political parties were suppose to give the everyday common citizen a voice,a hand, and a soul within our government in which we pledge our allegiance to.
ReplyDeleteIn a way I do think that political parties are the voice of the people as long as they are in favor of them. That would be my opinion or way of thinking.
DeleteYup, Lionel Is right, in my opinion. They primarily serve to represent the people and do what is right for us as a whole. we as citizens can choose what groups to associate ourselves with.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the purpose for political parties is to bring people together to gain control of the government.
ReplyDeleteThree purposes of having political parties are to share similar ideas between groups of people, promote changes and ideas towards making life in a country "better", and to keep a country from falling into a dictatorship.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you about sharing similar ideas. Nobody wants to be stuck with people that they can't agree on something. Political parties can help people felt along with in each other.
DeleteWhile I agree with you, don't you think that sometimes when candidates and even voters place party alliances before common sense or what's best for the country as a whole can lead to the deterioration of our democracy?
DeleteFirst purposes for political parties is to give people a wider variety of I ideas to choose from , not just one. Help people understand from different point of views. Second purposes is so people can be in one and have similarities with in the group and alliance can be form with in them. Third purpose is for what region of people you fit in with. Is like so you won't be with the wrong crowd of people and the ideas are opposite of yours.
ReplyDeleteI Agree it does give people more ideas to choose from and think about. When on your parties side it also brings up differnet ideas that you may also agree on and have opinions to express.
DeleteThree purposes of political parties:
ReplyDelete-to serve as linkage institutions and connect people to the government through elections
-decentralizes the US Federal system and prevents power from being centralized around one specific group
-allows people to unite and express their concerns to the federal government and helps society establish their own political ideology thus promoting political socialization
ReplyDeleteI agree with luis, that having political parties is the best way to solve an issue because we come to a compromise that suits us best.
Delete3 purposes of political parties are to bring the People closer to the government, to define where the people stand on an issue and uniting the people or helping us reach a compromise. Political parties work as a group of similar minded people coming together to elect an individual who better represents their beliefs.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Candy. Political parties should definitely unite people within the support of the party and across other parties through compromises. We have had several compromises done between interest groups all over our history, and it is one of the legacies that political parties should try to follow and upkeep.
DeleteThree main purposes of political parties are to give voice to a group of people's interests. Also to organize elections by nominating candidates and seeking office. Finally they organize government and policy making attempting to use the institutions of government to reflect what the voters want.
ReplyDeleteI believe that political parties are supposed to inform the people telling them what's going on. The changes that are being made whether they are good news or bad. Secondly political parties are there to represent the public, their beliefs and ideas. Thirdly
ReplyDeleteI believe that political parties are supposed to unite the people who have the same ideas, beliefs and ideologies. This will make the public share their ideas about their wants and needs and at the same time they could be heard.
The three main puposes to having political parties are to help everyone establish there own opinions in whats going on. It brings the government and people together by getting involved within the country, and Each party helps a certain group out and trys to fight for certain rights.
ReplyDeleteI agree, they do help everyone say their own opinions with the help of one leader.
DeleteThe main purpose of political parties is to get the people that have the same beliefs together. They choose a leader to represent them and their beliefs. They also aid in keeping the government in control.
ReplyDeleteThe main purpose of the goverment are the following.
ReplyDeleteREPRESENTATION - To display themselves to us to gain are vote by there ideas on many problems, in a way as they are trying to sell thems sells like a product.
ReplyDeleteBut parties are there to help ensure that the person running gets more votes in than the opposing candidate. They provide the brains and work on the campaigns while the candidate sits back and provides the face of the campaign.
DeleteThere are many purposes for political parties, but a couple main reasons for the creation of factions is to allow the people the choice to be able to decide what they want.
ReplyDeleteI agree political parties have only increased internal conflicts and primarily focus on mainstream issues neglecting the other issues that are just as vital. This is probably George Washington warned of factions.
DeleteThe three main purposes of political parties are to: to get people to GOTV, provide a positive example of what they are representing and are willing to do for everyones satisfaction, and finally speak negatively about the other parties to get the people to prefer one party over the other.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the three main purposes of political parties are to unite people with the same view, prevent too much power from staying in one particular party and allow people the chance to voice their and opinion and have a chance to participate in politics.
ReplyDeleteThe three purposes of political parties are to seperate the public into categories, gain different perspectives, and have a sense of supremacy over another party. Basically the parties job is to persuade the vote of a group of people that have the same beliefs. Also, the parties need to inform the voters to see where they stand.
ReplyDeleteOne of the reasons for political parties is so it can put potential voters beliefs in a group on certain issues in this country.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Omar political parties help the uneducated to assist them who to vote for due to heavily media coverage and by giving the people a path on where the candidate stands on most of the issues.
DeleteIn my opinion political parties were designed to connect the people to the government, prevent the government from overpowering the people, and to allow ideals to be voiced so progress can be sprouted for this nation. Today, however seems to revolve more around on getting into office and the one thing so many people struggle to earn, the dollar. Greed has corrupted out political parties which in turn infects the government and hurts the people.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Jairo, because through the goverment the voices of the people are able to be heard and with agreeing with one of the political party leaders something can be done about it.
DeleteI agree that nowadays it seems that political parties revolve more around the wrong things. It's more like a popularity game. Whoever is liked more wins. Corruption has come due to the greed and the desire for money and recognition from the entire country. Corruption has indeed affected the government and us as the American people.
DeleteThe three purposes of politicla parties are to gain public opinion, make opinions of opposing side compromise, and to inform the people of the issues thats currently happening.
ReplyDeleteThe 3 purposes of political parties are to:
ReplyDelete1.
ReplyDelete3 reasons why political parties exist are, I believe, to encourage people to become active in the government and debate with one another about what to change in our nation, to represent a group of average people and make their beliefs a reality, and to give people information on topics, which might greatly affect the nation.
ReplyDeleteI agree one of the main reasons for a political party to exist is to represent people and speak up for them.
DeleteI also agree with the idea that political parties are a means of representation for people and their political views and beliefs.
DeleteThe three reasons, in my opinion, why there are political parties are:
ReplyDelete1. to connect the average American to the government and its current issues
2. to let the voices of the people be heard through a select group, being the political parties
and 3. to allow Americans with the same views to collaborate together and attempt to reach a common goal.
ReplyDeleteI agree with her because the people want someone with the same views as them and someone who has a chance of making those views happen.
DeleteThree purposes of a political party is to seek out problems that will help better the country, unite the people with the same ideology, and allow people to voice out their opinion on certain issues that are occurring. People in the same political party and even with the same views as them and the candidate have the opportunity to support their candidate with the hope of them winning.
ReplyDeleteThree purposes of a political party is to nominate candidates for office, they dicide who would be competing for power in the government, educate/inform the people, tell people what is going on on the government and give them information so they can make their decisions. And last organize the government and help the people to express themselves.
ReplyDeleteI believe that 3 purposes of a political party are 1) To adress a certain issue or problem. 2) Also to put one of their own in office so that there ideas can be executed. 3) To also pass on their ideas to others and try to make others see as they do on the subject matter
ReplyDeleteI agree with Angel about them trying to convince others to believe what they believe.
DeleteI believe the three purposes of a political party are to gain the peoples opinion, crate ideas on how to better the country, and lastly to seperate peoples beliefs.
ReplyDeletethey do try to gain peoples oppinion but what they try to do more often is to slander the opposing party to discredit them thus gaining more trust for their own party
DeleteThe three main purposes of political parties are to firstly seperate public opinion and beliefs into categories, secondly give public opinion a chance to be heard, and lastly to come up with different ideas to better enhance the country.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with your first reason because the reason for political parties isn't necessarily to separate the public but to unite the public with similar ideas. That's where the separation comes in, its simply an aftermath of uniting a portion of a community.
DeleteI believe that political parties are set up for 1) People want to be a part of something they want their voice to be heard not only in their own state but nationwide.
ReplyDeleteOne purpose of political parties is to be a means of connecting the public to the government. Another purpose of political parties is to help show voters political beliefs and views about issues in America. A third purpose of political parties is to seek out and nominate a candidate to represent them and their party. These parties work by forming political views and opinions and by trying to gain support with the use of numbers to gain strength.
ReplyDeleteI believe with raul because in a sense the people who are taking part of the political parties need to know not only whats going on in there particular party but whats going out throughout the country. People need to work together and get things done right. (Might never happen but yeah)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I do not believe in the existence of political parties, their reasons for being are presented through understandable measures.
ReplyDeleteThe three purposes of political parties are as follows,
ReplyDelete1.
I agree that political parties offer a connection between people and the government, it also allows for a sense of social identity as well
Deletei believe that political parties give the citizins a vioce in government, raise awareness on issues, and are the cause of a unproductive government at times.
ReplyDeletethe citizins have a voice because they vote for the political party they agree with the most
they raise awareness on issues like "the rent is too dam high political party".
and due to having a majority of congress and senate being a part of one party or the other some times they do not compromise at all or take for every to pass laws . although some times its would be bad to rush the government and pass laws without reviewing them first *cough the obama care health reform cough*
Three purposes of a political party is to keep the people informed of the government, have a group of people that have the same beliefs, and be able to bring ideas to the government on how to solve an issue.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that ,"To keep the people informed of the government" is a good purpose of a political party because it is always good to keep the people informed of what is happening around them.
DeleteMichael vasquez
Political parties were created in order to be for the people and where they stand on issues and which group or political party they belong to. Another reason political parties are created is because the amount of funding they receive. Another factor is how the voters feel like they are part of government themselves by sharing same beliefs as the candidates that are running and feel like there voice will be heard .
ReplyDeleteI agree with you in saying that one aspect of political parties is for the voters to feel a part of their government and actually make a difference through their votes and voice
DeleteI believe the three purposes of political parties are to 1. help citizens discover our beliefs, such as to vote who we think should rule or govern our country. 2. Political parties help us voice our beliefs whether we are for or against certain issues such as abortion, immigration, same sex marriage, etc. 3. Political parties also help seperate different beliefs.
ReplyDeleteThe three reasons of political parties is:
ReplyDelete1.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion the 3 puroses of the political parties are to bring the people together by disputing different issues thus people will simpethis with one another depending on their views the second is to allow the people to have a say in the union by letting them to vote even though one side ultimately wins it let's people have a hope for what they believe to be the issue to be reform or not...lastly the parties are here to make reforms in some issues and let other to contienue as they were is there responsabily as elected members to do so
ReplyDeleteThe three purposes for political parties are to unite a group of people with the same beliefs, offer ideas and solutions for certain political issues, and to not only inform the public of issues, but to try and persuade them into believing the same as that specific political party. People in the same political party stand by each others beliefs and are there to support each other and recruit more people. They come together and with their opinions and values offer solutions for political or social issues. Political parties pretty much just unite people with the same beliefs and goals, it's kind of like any organization, just people working together to reach a common goal.
